Julie began her medical aesthetics career in 1999, when she and her husband opened Disappearing Act Laser & Skin Rejuvenation, a medical spa, in Redding, California. Since then, she has devoted her career exclusively to aesthetic medicine.

Julie received her Family Nurse Practitioner certification (FNP) from Sonoma State University in California, and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS) and a Certified Plastic Surgical Nurse (CPSN). She is also a Public Health Nurse (PHN) and holds a certificate in Health Care Management (HCMT). Julie currently holds nursing licenses in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and Nevada.

Julie has a special interest in teaching safe aesthetic injection techniques. She is a faculty member for PALETTE Resources, a speaker/trainer for the Allergan Medical Institute, and a member of Allergan's Advisory Board. She is also a Scientific Sessions Planning Committee (SSPC) member for the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses (ISPAN) Annual Meeting and an Editorial Board member for Plastic Surgical Nursing. Julie has published articles in several medical journals and made presentations at various professional international meetings. She also provides individual injection training workshops through her company, JBK Aesthetics.

Julie’s professional affiliations include the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society, and ISPAN. She is also a past president for the North State Cancer League in Redding, California.

Julie loves spending time with her husband and three children. She loves to run and hike with her two Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs, Stingray and Jamba. She paints with watercolors, acrylics, and oil paints whenever the mood strikes. Steve Yoelin, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist based in Orange County, California, with over 22 years of experience in minimally invasive medical aesthetics, such as techniques using dermal fillers, collagen stimulators, and neurotoxins, as well as fat reduction procedures. He serves as a strategic advisor to companies ranging in size from innovative early-stage startups to multibillion-dollar industry leaders. He also operates a private practice that focuses on aesthetic injectables and has a multiyear waitlist, which he has built exclusively from repeat visits and word-of-mouth referrals.

Dr. Yoelin has trained other clinicians through 2,500+ industry-sponsored global training programs and hundreds of continuing medical education programs. He has also led dozens of clinical trials (Phases 1-4) and investigator-initiated trials and has authored or co-authored many peer-reviewed journal articles, posters, presentations, and a book chapter.
