He has also led dozens of clinical trials (Phases 1-4) and investigator-initiated trials and has authored or co-authored many peer-reviewed journal articles, posters, presentations, and a book chapter. In addition, he has been awarded several patents for his research. Dr. Yoelin has performed dozens of fresh-frozen cadaver dissections over the past several years. He completed his Doctor of Medicine degree and ophthalmology residency at the University of California, Irvine. In private practice since 1991, Dr. Bucay is a member of the volunteer faculty of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. Dr. Bucay also serves as faculty on several continuing medical educational initiatives in the United States. She is recognized nationally and internationally for her expertise in minimally invasive facial rejuvenation using her combination approach. Licensed in both the United States and Mexico, Dr. Bucay is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, where she completed her undergraduate studies in 1983, while serving as a research assistant at the Johns Hopkins Oncology Center. She earned her medical degree in 1987, and completed an internship in pediatrics in 1988, at Houston-based Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Bucay then began a residency in dermatology at the University of Miami School of Medicine, which she completed at the Baylor College of Medicine in 1991. A personal battle with stage 4 melanoma has enabled Dr. Bucay to connect with her patients in a unique way. Dr. Bucay’s patient empathy is born of the mental, social, and physical challenges she experienced as a patient in her fight with cancer, a journey that began in May 2006.
