Since then, she has devoted her career exclusively to aesthetic medicine. Julie received her Family Nurse Practitioner certification (FNP) from Sonoma State University in California, and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS) and a Certified Plastic Surgical Nurse (CPSN). She is also a Public Health Nurse (PHN) and holds a certificate in Health Care Management (HCMT). Julie currently holds nursing licenses in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and Nevada. Julie has a special interest in teaching safe aesthetic injection techniques. She is a faculty member for PALETTE Resources, a speaker/trainer for the Allergan Medical Institute, and a member of Allergan's Advisory Board. She is also a Scientific Sessions Planning Committee (SSPC) member for the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses (ISPAN) Annual Meeting and an Editorial Board member for Plastic Surgical Nursing. Julie has published articles in several medical journals and made presentations at various professional international meetings. She also provides individual injection training workshops through her company, JBK Aesthetics. Julie’s professional affiliations include the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society, and ISPAN. She is also a past president for the North State Cancer League in Redding, California. Julie loves spending time with her husband and three children. She loves to run and hike with her two Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs, Stingray and Jamba. She paints with watercolors, acrylics, and oil paints whenever the mood strikes. Lee, MD, MS, Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology and Dermatology, specializes in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery with a special interest in aesthetic medicine. Dr. Lee earned her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, Louisiana. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Master of Science degree in physiology from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She completed both her residency and internship at Tulane University and a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Lee treats a broad spectrum of oculoplastic disorders, including eyelid cancers, trauma, tearing disorders, eyelid malpositions, orbital tumors, and infection and inflammation of the lids and orbit. In addition, Dr. Lee provides the full range of services offered at the Institute’s Aesthetic Center, including blepharoptosis surgery; blepharoplasty of the upper and lower lids; brow and forehead lifts; and non-surgical cosmetic enhancements, including botulinum toxin treatments, dermal fillers, and neck injections to treat the fat underneath the chin. She also performs photorejuvenation with lights and laser skin resurfacing for the face, neck, hands, and eyelids. Dr. Lee dedicates time to the teaching of residents, fellows, medical students, and community physicians. She is co-director of University of Miami Cosmetic Medicine, a multidisciplinary cosmetic group involving the departments of ophthalmology, dermatology, ears, nose, and throat (ENT), and plastic surgery. Keith Marcus, MD ![]() Keith Marcus, MDDr. Keith Marcus is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon in private practice in Redondo Beach, California. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with honors and attended medical school at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. After medical school, he completed a five-year residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he specialized in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. In Michigan, he spent five years training under one of the world’s most renowned facial plastic surgeons, Dr. Shan Baker. Subsequently, he completed one of the busiest and most diverse Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowships in the United States. Dr. Marcus received an award for passing his facial plastic surgery boards in the 99th percentile, and won the prestigious John Orlando Roe Award, given by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, for his groundbreaking research. Dr. Marcus has also served as an oral board examiner for the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery since 2014. Dr. Marcus balances his busy clinical practice with his passion for education and research.
