Wendy W. Lee, MD, MS

Wendy W. Lee, MD, MS, Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology and Dermatology, specializes in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery with a special interest in aesthetic medicine. Dr. Lee earned her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, Louisiana. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Master of Science degree in physiology from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She completed both her residency and internship at Tulane University and a fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Dr. Lee treats a broad spectrum of oculoplastic disorders, including eyelid cancers, trauma, tearing disorders, eyelid malpositions, orbital tumors, and infection and inflammation of the lids and orbit. In addition, Dr. Lee provides the full range of services offered at the Institute’s Aesthetic Center, including blepharoptosis surgery; blepharoplasty of the upper and lower lids; brow and forehead lifts; and non-surgical cosmetic enhancements, including botulinum toxin treatments, dermal fillers, and neck injections to treat the fat underneath the chin. She also performs photorejuvenation with lights and laser skin resurfacing for the face, neck, hands, and eyelids.

Dr. Lee dedicates time to the teaching of residents, fellows, medical students, and community physicians. She is co-director of University of Miami Cosmetic Medicine, a multidisciplinary cosmetic group involving the departments of ophthalmology, dermatology, ears, nose, and throat (ENT), and plastic surgery. Together with her colleagues she organizes multispecialty trainings in cosmetic injectables, topical treatments, and lasers.

Dr. Lee conducts research at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute with special interest in eyelid reconstruction, the aging eyelid skin, and aesthetic lasers. She also lectures around the world on oculoplastic disorders and aesthetic treatments related to the eye. She has been featured on CNN for her charitable work on patients from Third World countries. She has also been featured on local news channels such as NBC and WSFL, and is often quoted in women’s interest magazines such as Allure, Marie Claire, and Women’s Health regarding aesthetic treatments around the eyes.

Howard Liu, MD

Dr. Howard Liu is a board-certified dermatologist with Cedars-Sinai Medical Group in Beverly Hills, California. He is the Director of the Aesthetic Dermatology Program, providing comprehensive services for rejuvenation of the face and body. Dr. Liu received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, in Molecular Cell Biology with highest distinction. He obtained his medical degree at the University of California, Davis, graduating at the top of his class.

Dr. Liu completed his dermatology residency at Stanford University Hospital, where he was selected Chief Resident by the department faculty. He holds an academic faculty appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Dermatology at the University of California at Los Angeles, where he teaches medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology to residents. He is an active member of several honor societies, including Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and past recipient of various awards and distinctions, such as the UC Regents’ Scholarship and recognition by Super Doctors.

Dr. Liu is committed to ongoing education of the general community and his medical colleagues. He is the author of several medical journal and national print media publications. He also lectures frequently on topical skin rejuvenation (chemical peels, retinoids, serums, and sunscreens); laser and light devices for rejuvenation; facial and body rejuvenation with injectable fillers and neurotoxins; and outpatient cosmetic surgery, including eyelid surgery, skin piercing scar revision, and scarless techniques for cosmetic mole removals. Dr. Liu has been invited to appear on national television shows such as The Doctor’s Show to demonstrate live treatments with injectable fillers, laser therapies, and surgery.

His clinical practice is both medical and cosmetic, including advanced surgical reconstruction of the face for skin cancer repairs. Together with his many years of teaching anatomy, Dr. Liu applies these past experiences to his integrated approach to facial rejuvenation, including deep structural anatomy, soft tissues, and dermal/epidermal layers of the skin. Nicola Lowrey, MPAP, PA-C

Nicola graduated from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, in 2003, with a Master of Physician Assistant Practice degree. She is an advanced aesthetic injector with over 17 years of experience in the field . Her work focuses on an artistic, naturalistic, and clinically safe approach with the goal of enhancing her patients’ appearance in an undetectable, yet powerful way.

Nicola splits her time between her practice in Manhattan Beach, California, and traveling across the country to train other injectors. Education is one of her greatest passions. Her training model places a strong emphasis on knowledge of anatomy and safety in the use of injectable aesthetic treatments.

Dr. Lyons is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a clinical instructor at Yale University. Corey S. Maas, MD, FACS

San Francisco plastic surgeon Dr. Corey S. Stephen H. Mandy, MD

Born in Baltimore in 1943; graduated George Washington University undergraduate and medical school in 1966. Internship in Internal Medicine at University of Florida and did a residency in ObGyn at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore for one year before entering a Dermatology residency at Johns Hopkins. Completed Derm training at the University of Miami in 1971 and entered private practice in 1973 after 2 years as a Major in the US Air Force. Became a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of Miami in 1984 and continues to teach there today. In 1975 began a veterinary dermatological pharmaceutical company, DVM, which was sold to Ivax in 1992. Lived in Aspen Colorado and was its only Dermatologist from 1991 to 2002. I became a passionate lover of food and wine while a resident at Miami, under the mentorship of the late Dr Louis Skinner, a dermatologist and world renowned gourmet. Now in private practice in Miami Beach. Always artistically inclined, I have broad experience as a painter, sculptor and photographer. Athletics has been an essential element of my life, and I have been a lifelong equestrian, scuba diver, karate teacher and skier.

Keith Marcus, MD

Dr. Keith Marcus is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon in private practice in Redondo Beach, California. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with honors and attended medical school at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. After medical school, he completed a five-year residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he specialized in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. In Michigan, he spent five years training under one of the world’s most renowned facial plastic surgeons, Dr. Shan Baker. Subsequently, he completed one of the busiest and most diverse Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowships in the United States.

Dr. Marcus received an award for passing his facial plastic surgery boards in the 99th percentile, and won the prestigious John Orlando Roe Award, given by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, for his groundbreaking research. Peter Palhazi, MD

Dr. Peter Palhazi’s specialty is clinical anatomy and plastic surgery. He has performed dissections regularly for many years to gain an understanding of facial anatomy and surgery. His main areas of interest are facial plastic surgery, especially rhinoplasty, and nonsurgical aesthetic procedures.

Dr. Palhazi has authored many research articles and book chapters on anatomy and surgery topics ranging from breast surgery to the salivary glands. He is the co-author of Rhinoplasty: An Anatomical and Clinical Atlas, a landmark anatomy and surgery text published in 2018, and representing an authoritative and hugely detailed account of the subject. He has also co-authored a second book on rhinoplasty entitled Preservation Rhinoplasty that presents in-depth information on the anatomy of the face. In addition, Dr. Palhazi is co-author of an upcoming video atlas entitled Applied Anatomy of the Face: The Skin Surface and Beyond.

Dr. Palhazi has also written several book chapters on dermal fillers and facial anatomy. He lectures regularly on rhinoplasty and facial anatomy in the United States, the European Union, and across Russia.

Jennifer Parker Porter, MD

Jennifer Parker Porter, MD, FACS is a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and the medical director of Chevy Chase Facial Plastic Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Porter is a Clinical Associate Professor at Georgetown University Medical Center in the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Porter is certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. Her practice is 100% cosmetic facial plastic surgery with a large percentage of being nonsurgical rejuvenation.

Dr. Porter, a native Washingtonian, completed her undergraduate studies at Brown University and was awarded a full tuition merit scholarship to attend Duke University School of Medicine. After completing her residency in otolaryngology at Baylor College of Medicine, she was able to train with internationally renowned facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons Dr. M. Eugene Tardy, Jr. and Dr. Dean M. Toriumi. Subsequently, Dr. Porter was recruited to return to Baylor College of Medicine as an assistant professor to lead the Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training for the residency program in the Bobby R. Alford Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Communicative Sciences. A leading expert in facial cosmetic plastic surgery, Dr. Porter’s contributions to the field earned her a research grant from the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Porter has also been appointed to multiple faculty positions within the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Porter is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She has published a number of book chapters and journal articles, and has served as guest editor for several journals because of her acknowledged medical expertise as a facial plastic surgeon.
